Scapes
People often say, "A place is what you make it" and, "Home is where the heart is." But, I've always struggled with both of those.
I still live in the city I was born and grew up in. I never left, despite planning to from an early age. For many reasons, it just hasn't happened for me yet; kids, marriage, income, jobs, etc. However, most of my family have left and they rarely come home. I think it's fair to say, I've been struggling for years to feel at home in my hometown, and it hasn't happened yet.
What does that have to do with this doodle? Well, despite being in the same city our whole lives, my husband and I have moved six times. One could argue that is common, especially as we're so young, but a common battle that has transpired throughout the moves is the love of the city, and the love of the peace, quiet and privacy of the burbs.
This doodle represents the struggle for both.
